One of the biggest pleasures of caravan holidays is discovering new and exciting areas of the UK, but the Camping and Caravanning Club have urged holidaymakers to make an even more concerted effort to get to know the area this summer and support small local businesses.
As part of the ‘Eat Local’ campaign, the club is encouraging touring caravan owners to eschew the large chain restaurants and instead seek out independent eateries that are unique to the nearby area, who often rely upon income from holidaymakers to keep business booming, particularly in more rural areas.

A survey of the general public conducted by the Camping and Caravanning Club revealed that a considerable number of people would be making the choice to dine locally during the holiday season, with 31% of caravanners saying that discovering a farmer’s market enhances their holiday experience, and 30% revealing that they always go on the hunt for a nearby village pub.
However no matter what you’re planning to eat during your holiday, make sure you put great touring caravan insurance on the menu before you leave.
