Why is Curacao Caribbean’s Best Kept Secret?

curacao

Curacao is one of the many islands in the Caribbean archipelago where one can enjoy the high lifestyle, with lots of tasty cocktails and sunbaths. Gambling is another popular activity on the island, among snorkeling and walks in the nature.

Sunbathing in Curacao

The island is famous for its white sand beaches famous all over the world. There are many spots one can pick for a sunbath, but among all of the natural beauties, Renaissance Curacao is a real man-made gem. It is located in Willemstad and it features a luxurious resort. When looking for a more natural place, one should head towards Cas Abou Beach, which is really crowded and offers a number of facilities for people who want to spend the entire day on the beach. But the real all-natural beach in Curacao is Playa Jeremi, where comfort is somewhat sacrificed for the sake of wilderness. As expected, this beach is not very crowded, so it is the perfect place to spend a romantic after-noon and just enjoy the scenery.

Where to gamble in Curacao

Gambling comes as natural in an exotic paradise like Curacao and there are many places to try one’s luck. Holiday Beach Casino, Hilton, Breezes, Marriott and Renaissance are the biggest hotels in the area which offer gambling opportunities. Casino Royale is another important gambling spot and offers 365 slot machines and 14 table games. Poker is the favorite game in Curacao, but the local casinos offer a wide variety of games to suit every taste.

Fun and sports on shore and off-shore

Tourists who want to have an adventure vacation in Curacao will not be disappointed to learn that all beaches offer snorkeling facilities. For a day-long trip, one can rent a yacht and explore the close-by mini-islands, such as the Klein Curacao, where tourists can find the peace they were looking for, as the little patch of sand is not inhabited.

Curacao is a great place to go hiking. The highest peak on the island is Mt. Cristoffel (1240 foot) which is placed within a national reservation, so there are plenty of opportunities to watch the animals in their natural habitat. The reservation offers kayaking for people who are looking for an adrenaline rush.

Socialites and nightlife in Curacao

Willemstad may seem a rather peaceful town during the day, but in the dark hours it turns into a jazz capital. Friday and Sunday are the best days to party in the town, but tourists can blend in with the locals in fun parties any day of the week. Avila Hotel’s Blue Bar is one of the establishments where one can listed to live jazz all the night. Beaches like Zanta and Mambo are the places to be if DJ parties are what you look for.
