Zante has a reputation as being one of the places youngsters on their first holiday abroad head to with their mates, and this is certainly a side of Zante which makes it a place not for the fainthearted! If this is the reason why you are thinking of heading to this Greek party island, you’ll already know about the nightlife and the bars which litter the resorts.
But what is there to do during the day in Zante that will get your heart racing as much as it will no doubt do at night?
Beach Fun
During the summer days, the vast majority of visitors to the island – along with the locals – tend to all head towards the islands many beaches. And with beaches come water-sports. In lively Tsilivi there are plenty on offer including banana boat rides, jet skis, water sailing amongst other types of water based fun! As these activities tend to be geared towards people on budget holidays to Zante, the prices are often very affordable, so you will not have any excuse to not give them ago, unless you are scared that is…
Jeep Safaris
Mass tourism has to many made some parts of the island a bit too crowded and removed some of its charm. However this does not mean that other areas do not have picturesque views and trails which let you see what real Zante is like. The best way to experience all this is via jeep safari. You’ll get to see quaint villages which have been left untouched for decades, if not centuries, climb up mountain ranges you never knew existed as well as take in ancient plant life including an olive tree which is said to be thousands of years old.
Speed Boat Trips
Being an island, Zante unsurprising has plenty of sea excursions which whizz you around the best sights and sounds it has to offer. Everyday at Tsilivi harbour speedboats full of thrill-seekers set off on a fast paced trip to the blue coves, shipwreck beach and other famous landmarks. There are more tranquil ways you can see these sights, but if you are an adrenaline junkie you would probably prefer to take a speedboat, right? These tours usually include a stop off at a bar or restaurant, although if you are feeling a bit sea sick you may want to give this bit a miss!
There are plenty of cheap all inclusive deals to Zante throughout the summer months. If you like what you hear about the nightlife, you’ll be pleased to know that the daytimes can be just as much fun as the nights!
