Visiting Poole is the perfect choice to have an unforgettable vacation memory. Located in eastern Dorset, Poole is home to the largest natural harbour in Europe, world famous for its beaches, and popular as a historic town. Visitors have a myriad of places to tour in the old historic town. The historic town is majestic with the old Georgian style buildings, brick-built houses, and authentic architectural designs. Poole is simply gorgeous, and so here are the best places to go while visiting.

Poole Museum

To learn the history of Poole, the first place to visit should be the Poole museum nestled in an eighteenth-century building that perfectly depicts the long history of the town. The local History Centre is attached to the museum so you can dig deeper into resources on the history, culture, and people of Poole.

Splashdown Poole

This an all-action water park not for the faint-hearted but with promise of great fun. You can enter the dragon’s lair, tumble through twisting tubes of Mississippi drifter for family fun. Family fun simply awaits you when you jump into this amazing pool with its selection of interactive water play zone for children and adults.

Poole Park

Poole Park was opened in 1890 as a peoples’ park earmarking it as one of the must visit sights in Poole. The Poole Park is designed for family relaxation, for instance, children can feed the ducks and swans on the Swan Lake, after which they can ride the miniature railway winding round the Swan Lake. Children will also find the Ark an interesting playground where they can also try the tube slides or spiral slide. Lovers of nature can just take a stroll round the park enjoying the beautiful environment or sit down to watch a match.

Sandbanks Ferry

Visiting Sandbanks Ferry on your visit to Poole is a must do so you can partake in the ferry journey between Sandbanks and Studland. The ferry operates daily and carries people across the Poole Harbour reducing the travel time between Corfe Castle and Swanage for example. Travelling by Ferry is an opportunity to travel on the second largest natural harbour in the world.

Sandbanks Beach

Sandbanks has been rated for several years as the best beach on South Coast England, not without reasons. You visit the beach in total safety with assurances that you will have an excellent time with your friends and family. For its clean water, fine and golden sand, and life guards on duty, you cannot but visit Sandbanks beach that has held the European Blue Flag for 26 years. At the beach, you can enjoy a varied selection of water sports including kayaking, jet-ski, and parascending.

Summary

Poole is an historic town with so much to offer visitors. The history of the town, quintessential buildings, and tourist attractions are guarantees for fun and a great sightseeing experience. While preparing for a great tourism in Poole, accommodation must be inclusive in your plans to make your stay worthwhile.

Things to Remember When You Plan a Fishing Trip

This year will be the second year that I have organized a fishing trip for my buddies and whilst I know that things went well last year, I have an eye on making sure that this year is even better. In fact, I have already been looking at Miami yacht rentals so that we can head out on to the ocean and snare ourselves some outstanding catches to write home about. I have learned a few things already about planning a fishing trip and whilst it is completely up to you and your friends where you go and what you do, there are some important points which you need to remember.

Picking the Right Spot

When it comes to picking the location for your fishing trip, I would advise that you make this a democratic process and make your decision based on a general consensus. During this time it is important that you not only consider what kind of species it is that you are looking to target, you should also be thinking about the surrounding area, the nightlife, the weather, accommodation and other important factors. If everyone in your group wants to check out a new experience ice fishing, then it might be best to look up different things you might need for that. Green Bay ice fishing trips will be wildly different than the summertime there.

Logistics

It is important to remember that this is not just a vacation and that a simple flight from point A to point B is not all that you have to consider. The reason behind this is that everyone is going to need equipment and whether they take it with them or they rent it out there, you need to bear this in mind when planning the trip. Consider using a guide to help you with all the equipment you might need. Green Bay fishing guides will know exactly what you might need to bring for their water.

Getting on The Water

It’s all well and goo deciding to go to a certain place because there are some exotic fish there but you need to make sure that you are going to go to the perfect spot and that you have the means to do so. Many popular fishing places have guides and charters which will take you out and show you the best spots, as part of your planning process you should already be looking into this side of the trip.

Creating a Challenge

Getting out on the water and shooting for fish is all well and good, but where is the adventure in that? Instead, why not start planning a competition so that you and the group can really ramp up the stakes with a little bit of competitive energy. If you are going to do this, I would advise that you get it planned quite early on so that everyone has time to get the energy flying around.

Informing

If it is you that is organizing the trip, you need to make sure that everyone knows exactly where they are going and when, how much it will cost and what they need to bring. I usually send out a sort of newsletter which gives everyone all of the information that they need and this ensures that I no longer have responsibility over these details.

How to Realize Your Travel Dreams

If you have dreams of one day traveling but you feel as though your life doesn’t lend itself to getting away from it all and starting again in another country, think again because it is most definitely possible. Regardless of what your financial, your family or your own personal situation is, there is always a way to make your dreams happen and especially so when it come stop traveling.

Machu Picchu, Peru

I myself was 28 when I first left home and hit the road after leaving my job and whilst it was most definitely scary, it was the best decision that I have ever made. If this sounds like something that you would like to do, here are your choices.

Working

There is nothing to say that you have to quit your job and go travel the world on a  wing and a prayer and in actual fact, you could quite easily find a job abroad. There are literally million of people abroad right now working in a profession that they love, in a country that is unfamiliar to them. You could do travel nursing, you could be an au pair, you could be an accountant, an engineer or even a teacher in another country, the skills are largely the same. The possibilities are endless in terms of what you could do abroad and if your heart is truly set on it, you will find a way for it to happen.

Volunteering

What better way to see the world than to do so whilst helping out some of the world’s largest major charities. This is exactly what you can find if you decide that you can leave home and join up with one of the numerous international charities in order to help out and travel. There are conservation projects in Central America, poverty projects in India or Africa or you could even help out with animal rights issues in Asia. The world is quite literally your oyster when you decide to volunteer and if you have some good in your heart and a desire to travel, this is the perfect way in which you can do both at the same time.

Studying

If you have ever wanted to expand your knowledge then you can do just that with some studying abroad. There are many schools and universities that accept foreign students and you will be able to learn, explore and live life like a local in a foreign country.

Backpacking

If you are able to save up enough money, there is nothing at all wrong with strapping on your backpack and heading out into the world to explore. Contrary to popular belief, there is no age limit on backpacking and if it is the world that you want to see, the very best way of doing so is by wandering around it with a sense of absolute freedom, which is just what backpacking is all about.

Why Traveling Is Good For You

In my opinion, traveling is one of the single greatest things in the world and it is an experience that can offer you more than anything else in life. Whereto you are backpacking through the Andes, working with wildlife in Asia or you choose to study abroad in London, these are experiences that you will not find in any other walk of life.

travel-background-1469438756vUG

I recently began reading into the actual science behind why travel is so good for you and I wanted to share with you today just a few reasons why traveling is far more than just a great experience, it is also great for mind, body and soul.

Health Reasons

Believe it or not, traveling is actually amazing for your health and recent studies have indicated that  those who travel actually live longer. The reasons behind this are primarily because those who travel are generally more active when they are on the road, visiting new places, going on adventures and such like. The second reason why travel can actually be good for your health is because you are being exposed to a wider variety of bacterias which of course cause problems initially, but then the body becomes stronger and resistant to the bacterias giving you a stronger immune system.

Meeting New People

They say that people who are more sociable are more likely to be happy and when you are on the road you will find that you are far more sociable, and the people that you meet will be too. When you are at home or at your job, it can be easy to stay in your bubble, seeing the same faces and the same people, this is something that doesn’t happen with travel and you will find that you make far more friends on the road than you would do if you just stayed at home.

Character Building

When you travel, you get a sense for who you really are and you will open up your mind to many different ways of life and different opinions that people have about the world. I experienced this myself when I saw a poor family in Morocco some years ago, despite having no money and little food, this was easily the happiest family I have ever seen. This experience completely changed my outlook on what happiness meant and I have never forgotten it. There is something very special about stepping outside of your daily life and opening up your mind to new ideas. If you want your character to be stronger, your ideas to be clearer and your personality to grow, travel is the best solution for you.

There is no age limit on traveling and there is no set criteria for who can go out and see the world. You only have one life so why not get out on the road and go and see what the world is all about, we have the best chance of doing this than we ever have and you should take it with both hands.

Natural Wonders to Knock Your Socks Off!

The world is a beautiful place, but the average person doesn’t get to see much of it. Chances are you spend most of your days stuck in a workplace, before going home to sleep and repeating again. This is why travel is so important, it allows you to break up the monotony of daily life and get out there and see the beautiful planet we live on. If you’re looking for a trip that’s really going to take your breath away and allow you to create memories that will last a lifetime, here are some of the most awe inspiring wonders of the world.

Northern Lights

Just about everyone has ‘see the northern lights’ scribbled on their travel bucket list. And as one of the most phenomenal natural wonders on the planet, it’s easy to see why. The Northern Lights or ‘Aurora Borealis‘ are collisions between the sun-charged gaseous particles in the Earth’s atmosphere. This creates the most spectacular show of lights in colors of blue, green, yellow, purple and pink. You can see the Northern Lights in lots of countries around the world Alaska, Denmark, Scotland, Greenland, Canada, Finland, and Iceland are just a few of them. The key to getting it right is to go at the right time of year and at a time when the weather conditions are right. So if seeing the lights is high on your list, don’t leave it until the last night of your trip in case it’s overcast.

Natural Wonders

Serengeti Wildebeest Migration

The great Serengeti wildebeest migration is a predictable annual pattern in which over a million wildebeest (accompanied by gazelle, zebra, and impala) move to find fresh grazing and better water. They are on the move starting in April right through to September where they begin to spread out across the heart of the Serengeti National park. Book today if you want to see this amazing natural phenomenon, you can go on safari in the park and witness this as well as tonnes of other majestic animals.

Sea Turtle Hatchling Release

Another incredible natural sight when it comes to animals is to see baby sea turtles making their way into the ocean. Be sure to check the dates and any updates to give yourself the best chances of seeing this, but you have the opportunity in places like Malaysia, Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, Turkey amongst others.

Niagara Falls

Niagara falls is of course one of the wonders of the natural world, and is breathtaking sight that will really make you appreciate nature. The falls are actually a collection of three waterfalls, these sit between Ontario in Canada and New York in America. Perfect photo opportunities or to just sit and take in to marvel at. There’s nothing like feeling so small on the planet to make you realize your personal problems really aren’t that important!
