One of the best things about Europe is how connected, and close everything is, and how culturally different each country is. Simply pop over the border, and you are treated to a new language, new people and new customs. One of the best ways to max out your experiences is to take a leisurely train ride through the heart of Europe. Starting in London and finally arriving in Istanbul the jewel at the heart of Turkey.
The key ingredients to this trip are forward planning. Buy your train tickets nice and early to ensure firstly that you have a place and also that you can save some money buy buying in advance. It is worth noting though. If you do decide that one place has too much to offer and you do want to spend another evening, those tickets you pre-booked will be worthless, so always consider your options. You can book your hotel stays with an online site such as Venere.com again taking care over when you book them just in case you get delayed.
London
Our trip begins in London, one of the most highly visited cities in the world, and it’s not hard to see why. The city offers a host of things to do such as museums and landmarks not to mention a sprawling nightlife and many theatres and shows to see. Once you are done with London, hop aboard the Eurostar to your next destination Paris.
Paris
Paris is a bustling city well known for its amazing art and fantastic scenery. Whilst here you will no doubt want to take in the Seine either on a walk or by jumping aboard one of the cities water tours. You can jump off at many points around the city and take in other landmarks such as the Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower before catching the train to Munich.
Munich
Depending on the time of year you plan to travel, you may be lucky enough to take in Munich during Oktoberfest, an amazing funfair of food, drink and attractions. If not the city still offers some amazing landmarks such as the English Garden, a park so large it could swallow up New York’s central park inside it. Once you are ready head onwards to Budapest.
Budapest
Budapest is a real jewel, sadly it does not get the notoriety is deserves, but it is certainly up and coming. Go for a cruise down the Danube, Relax in one of the many spas and bath houses the city offers. Before you go, you have to try Palinka -Hungarian fruit brandy. This stuff is lethal but has to be experienced before jumping the train again to our final destination Istanbul
Istanbul
Istanbul is an amazing city and one that everyone should experience at least once. The Spice Bazaar is one of the most well-known things to do in the city, and while it has become a little touristy in recent years it still holds its charm. Once you have settled into your hotel. Travel to Kadıköy a lovely area filled to the brim with interesting eateries, bookshops and drinking houses before heading out for an amazing ferry cruise.
